I've built a few book nooks, but this one was so much more detailed and fun than the others. Yes, there were a few pieces that I had a hard time getting together, but overall everything went together well and the instructions were clear. You complete nearly all of the instruction, even the electrical wiring for the light. Nearly everything you need is included. The only exception was a pair of scissors that you use to cut a few things and trim a few glue strips. All of the items punched out well without tearing the paper or pieces.
Only one little part was an issue - the magic staff. On this the instructions could have been better - the pieces didn't match the picture and the staff and the piece that is meant to the hold the crystals aren't compatible. You are supposed to put the piece on the staff, but the staff is too big for the tiny hole in the piece. I shaved down the staff with an exacto knife, but still couldn't get it to work. I just glued it all together to make it work, especially since this piece just lays there in the room, so it's not a huge deal. Other than that little snafu, it's a great set and I was constantly showing my husband all of the little details.
I bought this for a Christmas present for my 12 year old daughter. She's pretty craft so I figured she could put it together even though she was below the recommended age. She had no problem doing it independently. Very cool details. It even lights up! She loved it and had a lot of fun assembling it! Will probably buy a different one next year!
Well made and really fun to put together. Close to the book nook types of kits, this is a great addition to a shelf once done. The instructions were pretty well written and it was fun to put together. This one has some more pieces that need more manual assembly than other kits which I think makes it fun and a bit longer to put together.
Love holds together good and don't have to worry about getting glue all over. Will be look for more to do
Gifted this to my craft-loving 11yo niece and she loves it! In her own words: The pieces included look and feel sturdy and are sanded down. There are a lot of different pieces too. It also comes with pieces other than normal wood, like little beads to look like crystals, a little owl figurine, and some twine and orbs. I am looking forward to building this beautiful kit! 😆
