I liked putting this one together, looks super cute when done. I did have an issue with one of the lights, it didn't work. Tried everything and ended up buying a tiny light and it works fine. A suggestion would be for the sign names - I didn't want to use them, being in another language or translated strangely - So I made my own and put those on instead.
This was the 5th half scale piece I've put together and it was really fun and less tedious then some of the others.
I've constructed several of these miniatures and they aren't for everyone, they take tons of patience and can be quite hard to get the hang of as there are several small pieces of different materials.
With anything, you're going to run into some clumps or broken pieces. But that's what counter pressure and super glue is for. These are incredibly delicate pieces and sometimes things break. It happens. It doesn't take away from the quality, and it's nothing that can't be fixed with problem solving.
I think the illustrated instructions are more than enough, I'd recommend that you pay careful attention to how things are positioned or you may end up with a wonky cabinet or table.
I wouldn't recommend this version for your first foray into miniatures. I've been building these for several years and it gave me a little bit of a challenge.
Invest in some good, small scissors, super glue and an exact knife. I don't recommend using hot glue for anything other than material that won't stick using super glue. It gets clunky.
I hope this helps! Don't be spooked because of the detail, just take your time and enjoy it.
Got everything but the glue needed for this miniature, though luckily I had some spare glue from previous miniatures to substitute for that! Other than that, all the other pieces listed were included and I am excited to see how long this one will take me to complete.
This a such a fun kit! I loved building it. The quality of the material is solid and the pieces fit tightly together. The instructions are generally very clear with a few typos, but you should be able to figure those out as each section starts with the materials you would need to complete it. I enjoyed sanding the wood, applying glue to pasting the papers to wood. However, if those are not your thing, you might want a different set. There are a few tricky parts that require some maneuvering (the electrical wiring and the roofing), other than that, it only requires patience to work with small pieces. I’m taking one star off as some parts are broken (a seashell, which I replaced with a few more books; a light bulb, which I decided to let it be as it’s on the peripheral (on top of the bookshelf, you can see on the 2nd pic). There were some leftover pieces which I could customize for a bit more or use in another project (2nd to last pic). One thing I wish the kit would have been better is the mini cat, it’s way too ugly that I decided not to use it. I might find something else for that spot. But overall this is a good kit!
