Super fun, but super challenging. I like that it has many different elements and things to do. Nice hobby if you enjoy being creative. Overall, very fun and creative way to kill time.
This was my first miniature kit that I've ever done. I'm not going to lie, some of the little pieces were frustrating and not everything came out looking like how I wanted but it was so rewarding seeing the finished product. It took me about 3 weeks of working on it a couple hours a day to finish it. I would definitely recommend getting this if you're on the fence about it.
It has most of the stuff you need. You can customize a lot of the stuff pretty easily. You can paint over some stuff with acrylic or spray paint. You can darken the colored images that you cut out with watercolors to darken the paper. Recommend doing this before you cut. And the photos provided I use in addition to the kit, copper paint, gold foil/shelf liner from the dollar store, and a bag of moss from the dollar store.
The packaging is well done, I haven't tried putting it together yet. I've never done one of these but the direction book looks really nice. It seems all the leaves and stuff that are paper parts have to be cut out with an X-Acto blade which I was kind of hoping they would pop-outs so unfortunately because they're so tiny, I couldn't gift it to my sister who has arthritis but fortunately I can steal it for myself! Woo woo! So I'm excited to find a day to veg out and glue things.
I'm finishing up my second kit. They're fun to build but you have to have patience and the ability to be okay if something doesn't turn out exactly like the picture. My plants never look as good as the photos. And the instructions can be a little vague so sometimes you just have to hope for the best. In the end you will be the only one who knows what might be incorrect. My first one was the greenhouse. I would not recommend that for your first kit. That greenhouse frame was a pain. Mine is a little wonky but in the end you can't really tell. I'm currently working on the Miller's Garden. This one has been a lot easier.
